Entretenir sa machine à café

So here is a simple and effective little maintenance guide to make your task easier.

DAILY

Your machine should be clean before and after use.

  • Clean your filter holder with a dry cloth after each coffee to ensure there is no residue inside. You should not wet your filter holder before making a coffee.
  • When frothing milk, you should always purge your steam wand before and after (about 1 second). Once your milk is frothed, clean the wand with a damp cloth and then purge again.

MONTHLY
  • Descale your machine using a sachet of Puly Cleaner: Descaler . Descaling is important to prevent your machine from possibly blocking (due to limescale).
ATTENTION! Not all machines need to be descaled.
Machines that can be descaled : thermoblock and simple kettle
Machines that cannot be descaled : Semi-commercial with heat exchanger and double boiler
    • Clean stubborn deposits and stains that have built up in your brewing group with Puly Caff cleaning powder ( or Puly Caff detergent sachets) . You can also soak your equipment (filter, filter holder and pitcher). By using this cleaner, you ensure that there is no bitterness in your coffee.

    ANNUALLY
    • Use the Bilt Oscar water softener to reduce calcium and magnesium deposits that build up inside your kettle. The manufacturer recommends replacing it once a year.
