Kyoto
Part of the Remembrance series, the Kyoto blend was created following Jordan's trip to Japan in the fall of 2019.
The life of the Geiko (Geisha) was the former imperial capital of Japan from 794 to 1868.
This city, considered the cultural heart of Japan, has more than 200 temples, Shinto shrines and imperial palaces.
It is in this city that I met Carmen, a German woman who accompanied me on my journey. We shared the same passions for food and photography.
During a long day visiting temples, we stopped in a beautiful café, the Blue Bottle. There I enjoyed one of the best cortado of my life (served by none other than 2010 world champion barista Michael Phillips). The texture and aromas had hints of milk chocolate.
When I returned to Quebec, in order to share my experience with you, I had to recreate that taste. It is now my pleasure to offer you our interpretation of this coffee. Let me introduce you to our KYOTO espresso.
