Our coffee line

At Cafellini, the sense of belonging is felt right down to our coffee bags. Since the very beginning, we have worked in collaboration with Montreal micro-roaster Café Barista to offer you a line of coffee rich in quality and emotion. By first developing excellence in Italian espresso, over the years we have created other types of blends based on the preferences of our customers. This is how new aromas have emerged, all inspired by travel and current trends. The comforting and sensory tastes of our coffees will please you, from the strongest to the fruitiest.
So we present to you our 11 coffee blends to allow you to live the Cafellini experience to its full potential.
FIDELIO
Fidelio is the first blend to see the light of day at Cafellini. It is a classic Italian espresso with a small percentage of washed robusta (like all our other Italian espressos). The name Fidelio was first created for the café's loyal customers, but it also refers to the password at the masquerade party in Stanley Kubrick's film Eyes Wide Shut . Whether as an espresso or a cappuccino, its creamy texture is unbeatable: it is the team's favorite!
DECAF
It was important for us to have a decaffeinated coffee without compromise. The main objectives in creating Decaf were that it should have a natural, rich and quality taste (the objective has been achieved, we confirm!) Decaf , decaffeinated at 99.9%, comes from the water decaffeination method (Swiss method) and can be drunk as an espresso or filter coffee.
BIG BUCKET
Gran Copola was designed for our customers who wanted a stronger coffee. Despite its strong character, it still remains elegant and offers more length in the mouth. It is our most popular blend in some Montreal restaurants such as Bouillon Bilk , Cadet and Place Carmin since it is good after a meal. The name Gran , already known for designating the best Italian espresso blends, was grafted onto the name Copola , which strangely resembles the name of a famous American director… (Psst! The Godfather , does that ring a bell?)
GIULIETTA
Giulietta is a more feminine and flirty blend with a sweet and chocolatey side that pairs perfectly with milk. It is indulgent and almost like a dessert, so much so that most of our customers no longer sweeten their cups of Giulietta . It was Jordan's ex-girlfriend, named Julie, who inspired the name of this coffee, as well as the wife of the famous Italian director Federico Fellini, Giulietta Masina.
BLACK BEAUTY
Bella Nera was born from a strong demand from our customers for a stronger espresso. Its smoky aromas and dark roast are somewhat different from the classic Italian espresso, while maintaining the quality of the latter. Creating this blend was a real exercise: how to get more roast without there being too much bitterness? It seems that the exercise worked well, because lovers of strong coffee are served as desired with this blend which, despite its intensity, is still a pleasure for the palate. Why Bella Nera ? The combination of the two words sounded good to the ear, it's as simple as that!
FEDERICO
Federico is our only organic and fair trade Italian espresso blend. Despite the few varieties available in organic and fair trade coffees, we wanted to offer this option to our customers by developing THE perfect recipe. At the time, the blend lacked a little body (as it was 100% Arabica), we finally added washed organic and fair trade robusta to enhance it a little. For two years, we have been able to offer you a blend that meets your (and our) expectations! Federico is a little milder than the average Italian espresso and can be drunk as an espresso or filter. You will guess that the name Federico is linked to the name CAFELLINI. A noble blend that proudly bears the first name of the great Italian director.
KENYA AA BROWN (ORIGINS SERIES)
Kenya AA Brun is part of our ORIGINS series. It is a great classic in the filter coffee family and its AA designation means that it has the best rating in its category. Our goal with this blend was to introduce you to the unique origin of Kenyan coffee, known for its notes of chocolate, red berries and caramel. In addition, the brown roast allows you to really taste the aromas of the coffee, appreciated for its sweetness and length in the mouth. If you look carefully inside the bag, you will notice that all the beans are identical; they are all the same size and quality.
KENYA AA BLACK (ORIGINS SERIES)
Our goal in creating Kenya AA Black was to develop a distinct taste from Kenya AA Brown with a different roast, while keeping the same bean and quality. As a result, this blend, which is also part of our ORIGINS series, is much fuller-bodied and has a burnt smell. It is therefore perfectly suited for drinkers of strong and dark coffee.
BLACK PLAN C
Plan C Noir is the Kenya AA Noir , but in espresso. As funny as it may seem, this blend is actually a mistake! Initially, while working with Café Barista on developing a different, stronger blend, the results turned out to be very (too) strong! Then, we decided to have customers taste it to get their opinion. To our great surprise, we managed to satisfy a certain clientele, who love this level of coffee intensity. This is how the Plan C Noir blend was born and it lives up to its name since it was neither our Plan A nor our Plan B! This creamy and oily espresso is THE strongest in the world, haha.
*Since this coffee is very dark and oily, it is not recommended to put it in an automatic coffee machine, as this could damage it.
DON PEPE (ORIGINS SERIES)
For several years, third-wave coffee has been a movement that values the dissemination of information on the origin of beans and growers and that promotes respect for the bean and the producer, in particular. It is also a movement that advocates a lighter roast to intensify the fruity aromas of coffee. Wanting to follow the trend of "third wave" blends, without however distorting itself, we have designed Don Pepe , a funkier blend that stands out from the others and is part of our ORIGINS series. Its citrus and caramel aromas, straight from Panama, offer a balanced and pleasant acidity. It can be drunk as an espresso or as a filter.
KYOTO (MEMORIES SERIES)
Kyoto is a cross between a third wave coffee and an Italian espresso. Our personal touch, combined with the lighter roast of the third wave style, has allowed us to develop a blend that is in line with current trends. Kyoto was also created following Jordan’s trip to Japan in the fall of 2019, when he was inspired by a cortado served by Michael Phillips (2010 World Barista Champion) at the Blue Bottle café in Kyoto. Part of the SOUVENIRS series, this coffee offers notes of milk chocolate, caramel and citrus. Perfect as a cortado or flat white.
